5th and 6th graders learned a cool recorder song about zombies that uses only the notes B and A. Students can play along with the track below if they brought their music and their recorders home this week. (Students: if you did bring your recorder home, don't forget to bring it back to school on music class day next week!)
Zombies have taken over the Auditorium at Stone! Well, they may not be real zombies, but they sure can dance! 5th and 6th graders learned a cool recorder song about zombies that uses only the notes B and A. Students can play along with the track below if they brought their music and their recorders home this week. (Students: if you did bring your recorder home, don't forget to bring it back to school on music class day next week!) As all of the students figured out, this recorder track is based on Michael Jackson's Thriller. If you have your parents permission, watch the full 14 minute Thriller music video/movie on YouTube by clicking here!
Thank you to everyone who has asked about my participation in the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday. It was a great day for a race, and I completed it in 4 hours and 13 minutes. It's been an honor to be able to run this race for the past 3 years! 8th grade students are working in small groups on the song "The Middle" by the band Jimmy Eat World. Here's a reference recording for students to listen to at home, as well as the chords and lyrics for this song.
After school chorus begins this Tuesday, October 8th, from 3:00-4:15pm in the Auditorium. Chorus is open to students in 2nd through 5th grade, and enrollment is still open if any students are still interested in joining! Here is an important list of dates for students in chorus; it includes rehearsal and performance dates over the next 3 months. Please contact me if you have any questions.
