4th graders have been busy working on a Puerto Rican carol or aguinaldo for the upcoming Holiday Assembly. Below, students can listen to a recording of the song and practice using the lyrics posted below! 1st graders are learning a song about Diwali for the Holiday Assembly this year. Here is a great YouTube animated video of our song, presented first in English, and then in 4 different languages associated with the people of India who celebrate Diwali: Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. Enjoy! Students in after-school Chorus can use these links below to practice our songs for the upcoming winter performance and assemblies. All 8th graders must have their parents/guardians sign and return a Guitar Contract before they will be able to continue using a guitar in music class at Stone. For students who have lost their contracts, use the link below to print out a new one. Contracts are due by Monday, November 18th for full credit; they may be turned in afterwards but will not receive full assignment credit.
Marching monsters have taken over 4th grade recorder classes! Students: Use the recording below to play along with B A Marching Monster as part of your homework for this week. Have someone sign the sheet at home and then bring that sheet and your recorder back for music class on Monday, November 25th. REMEMBER:

As part of the Department of Arts Education Plan, every CPS school now has a designated Arts Liaison and has been evaluated on an arts education rubric which will be part of the school's report card. Through our commitment to arts education, integration, and residencies, Stone has been awarded the level of "Strong" for the 2012-2013 school year.
