Annie Jr. Audition Permission Slip |
Ms. Perry and I have announced that the spring musical this year is going to be... Students in 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade who are interested in auditioning for this show must fill out a permission slip (print a copy from the link below, if needed) and bring it to the first day of auditions on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Rehearsals will run January through the first week of April, with performances on Thursday, April 3rd and Friday, April 4th. Click here to learn more about the show, and email Ms. Perry and Mr. Marsland if you have any questions. Congratulations on a job well done to all of the students who participated in the Holiday Assembly performances this past week. And a huge "thank you" to all of the family and community members who showed up for our performance at 8:30am this morning - we truly appreciate your support of the arts at Stone.
DVDs are still available - contact the main office or send the order form (see below for a copy) in to school as soon as possible to get your copy before Winter Break! How can you play a recorder duet with yourself? 6th graders brainstormed a few ideas involving technology, so I challenged them to try playing our recorder duet Que Pasa with themselves at home. The link to the audio background track file is below. Send any audio/video recording evidence to me by email for some extra credit! Good luck! Can't make the Holiday Assembly performance this Friday? Don't want the hassle of trying to videotape your child in the assembly? You're in luck! The Stone Tech Crew has been recording the students' performances and are making DVDs that will available for purchase at the Holiday Assembly this Friday! Pre-order your DVD now by turning the form in below to the office with payment as soon as possible! A limited number of DVDs will also be available for purchase on Friday.
Kindergartners are learning a fun song about Santa for the Holiday Assembly this year. Students can practice the song at home with this awesome YouTube video: Our annual Winter Celebration of the Arts, held on Thursday, December 5th, was a huge success! Thank you to all of the families, alumni, and community members who came out to support the Stone chorus and drama students!
We have a very exciting week of performances ahead here at Stone Academy! Below is a link to the note I sent home with all students regarding performance dates, times, and attire for the Holiday Assembly videotaping and performances. All students should dress in their "holiday best" for these performances, which could include festive-colored clothing, winter-themed hats, traditional cultural attire, or dress up clothes. Please send me an email if you need any clarification. Students participating in Chorus have been asked to wear red and black attire for the Winter Concert and the Holiday Assembly performances. Any combination of these two colors is appropriate, including patterns involving these colors or various shades of these colors.
