8th grade students will be using guitars provided by Stone Academy. Students must return a signed “Guitar Usage Contract” before they will be allowed to use a school guitar. Guitars may not be taken home.
If you, a relative, or a family friend has a guitar at home, encourage your child to practice the chords and songs they’ve learned in music class. Your child can request a packet of songs from Mr. Marsland if they are interested. If your child seems very interested in learning to play the guitar, perhaps you would be interested in investigating group or private lessons for your child outside of school. The Old Town School of Folk Music offers excellent group and private classes for teenagers. |
